Montalegre marks 25th anniversary with 25 per cent ticket discount
Fans looking to attend the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Montalegre in Portugal on 7-8 September can take advantage of a special discounted ticket offer in celebration of the circuit’s quarter-century.
Nestled high up in the Vila Real mountains in the north of the country, the picturesque and undulating Circuito Internacional de Montalegre played host to the very first World RX event back in 2014, won by motorsport legend Petter Solberg in a Citroën DS3.
Ten years on, rallycross’ international elite will return to the popular Barrosã track for an eagerly-anticipated double-header, complemented by a full bill of support series entertainment in the shape of the FIA RX2e Championship and FIA European Rallycross Championship categories Euro RX1 and Euro RX3.
In 2024, World RX has embarked upon its exciting new ‘Battle of Technologies’ era, pitting the cutting-edge electric RX1e cars directly against their sustainably-fuelled combustion-powered RX1 rivals for the first time.
The curtain-raising contest at Höljes in Sweden earlier this month delivered a sensational spectacle of wheel-to-wheel action, with much more of the same in prospect at Montalegre.
